Sketching Around Town: Air Traffic Control tower

For this week’s Sketching Around Town drawing I decided to sketch the air control tower at the Victoria Regional Airport.  I have never flown out of the Victoria Airport, although one day I hope to; just to see what it’s like. In a future Sketching Around Town I plan to sketch some of the old hangers on the site as well.

The airport started out as military training base known as Victoria Field but was then renamed Foster Army Air Field and then later Foster Air Force Base. In 1976 Foster Field became Victoria Regional Airport. I am sure there are quite a lot of stories about that time in history.
