Editor, the Advocate:
Once again, the Wrap a Child in Warmth project is successfully completed. For over 20 years, Coldwell Banker The Ron Brown Company has sponsored this program to collect coats and blankets for the children of Victoria. Over the years, thousands of coats have been distributed.
We could not have done so without the support of our two primary partners. Triangle Cleaners has generously cleaned the many used coats. Without their help, the program could not succeed. VISD's Kidz Connection distributes the donations, making sure they go where they are most needed.
This year, Hurricane Harvey disrupted our normal event, creating more demand. The community pulled through and exceeded our expectations. For this, we are very thankful.
We are also thankful to those businesses and churches that were collection spots. The generosity of their patrons kept our barrels overflowing!
Thanks again, Victoria. Look for us again next year!
