It was a pair of late rallies Saturday as UHV split a doubleheader with the Southwestern Assemblies of God at the Victoria Youth Sports Complex.
The Jaguars rallied in the opener to break a 5-5 tie in the sixth inning for a 6-5 win, but the Lady Lions returned the favor in the nightcap with a solo run in the seventh for a 1-0 victory.
The Jaguars (3-5) jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the opener with a pair of runs in the first and third innings, but the Lady Lions would eventually answer back.
SAGU cut the lead to 4-3 in the fourth and took the lead at 5-4 in the fifth.
The Jaguars answered back in the bottom of the fifth as Angelica Davidson hit a double to deep left. She would eventually score on a SAGU throwing error.
Michelle Revels led off with a triple to deep left-center before scoring on an infield ground out by Davidson.
Kelsey Tidrick picked up the win in the circle for the Jaguars, allowing two runs.
UHV's Torey Dumont and SAGU's Casey Waterman were notched in a pitcher's dual in the nightcap.
A walk, a bunt base hit and two ground outs plated the lone run in the seventh to help the Lady Lions gain the split.
Davidson went 3-for-3 and Alyssa Adames 2-for-3 to lead the UHV offense. Ashley Reyna had the only other hit for the Jaguars, who outhit SAGU 6-5.
The Jaguars will play in the Gulf Shores Invitational beginning Friday, while SAGU is 7-6-1.
